India storms into final of Women World Cup, beat defending champions Australia by 5 wickets

It's the women in blue who will celebrate as Harmanpreet Kaur's team storms into the final of the ICC Women's World Cup. This victory was indeed historic as the team chased down 339 with 5 wickets in hand to knock out the seven-time World Cup winner and defending champions, Australia. Jemimah Rodrigues scored an unbeaten 127 in 134 while skipper Harmanpreet smashed 89 off 88. The player of the match award went to Jemima. This was also the highest successful run chase in ODI World Cup knockout matches.

Richa Ghosh also provided a quickfire with her 26 off 16, which proved clinical in helping India reach the total quickly after Harman's wicket. For Australia, Kim Garth and Annabel Sutherland clinched 2 wickets each. With this win, India will now face South Africa in the final match. This also means that the Women's Cricket will have a new world champion.

Australia skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to bat first. With a centurion innings from Phoebe Litchfield (119), while half-centuries by Ellyse Perry (77) and Ashleigh Gardner (63), the Aussies got to 338/10 in 49.5 overs.
